Ashley Abercrombie has been working and training horses in a professional setting for over ten years. Growing up on a full care boarding, training, and lesson facility, Mrs. Abercrombie has gained valuable knowledge and experience. As a teenager she started traveling with her mother, Donna MacDonald (a professional horse trainer/instructor in Texas), around the United States teaching beginner to advanced Horsemanship and Training Clinics. When she was fifteen she started working at a farm in Texas, there she began training and showing horses at a national level in various diciplines, such as; Western, Saddle Seat, Hunt Seat and Jumping.

Mrs. Abercrombie worked with Dr. Stan Allen, while apprenticing under her mother who was a co-worker of Dr. Allen. Dr. Allen is a fourth generation horse trainer, he has trained some of the most difficult horses from around the world on his farm in Teasdale, Utah. During this time Mrs. Abercrombie studied the psychology of the horse, as well as acquiring her Horsemastership Training Certification from Dr. Allen. From there she was able to work with, and serve under several top trainers from; Texas, Utah, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

Ashley Abercrombie teaches both Western and English lessons here at Log Cabin Stables. She utilizes her acquired techniques to help equestrian riders learn safety and the proper ways to ride and work with and around horses. She understands the importance to learn a proper and soft balanced seat so that riders can safely advance in there riding skills. Each learned skill forms a strong foundation for the following skill to be learned, these skills can only be successfully taught if they are in the correct order.

When it comes to working with horses, Mrs. Abercrombie feels it is very important to develop a bond and trust with each horse. Because of her schooling in psychology of horses she is able to use different techniques to reach each individual horse, from the strong willed to laid back.

Ashley Abercrombie is a passionate and well educated professional horse trainer. She has a great understanding and patience for horses and outstanding communication skills with both horses and their owners.
